program is doing the work at the file/OS level - i agree but this is just the file being restored . the ID's i think they should be maintained by LD not the backup software, so if i have the option within backup software to assign new replica id , is this then maintained by the backup software - i'm not sure. same if you create a replica within LD. LD takes action i guess so there must be something giving us some kind of info what happened. like i said it's working on my lab i managed to get the database restore with a new replica ID in production it restores it with the same replica ID. i appreciate suggestion on how to deal with it in a different way but this doesn't solve the issue . i need to know why the ID is not changed although i specifies the option with the backup software to change it.
